For the first 15 years of his career, Jeff Newburn worked in energy efficiency, starting with the State Energy Office and later leading programs for Iowa utilities. In 1995, he and his family made the move from Des Moines to Davenport.

Jeff has always had a passion for helping people manage their money. In 2000, he transitioned into the financial services field and founded Plan2Thrive Financial in 2010. His favorite part of the job is connecting with people, learning what matters most to them, and helping them align their finances with their values.

Jeff has been married to Sharon for 41 years, and together they have two adult children and four grandchildren. A lifelong lover of the mountains, Jeff spent five years living in Laramie, Wyoming, where he enjoyed skiing and hiking as often as possible. In 2023, he and Sharon moved back to Iowa to be closer to family. They now live in Center Point, just minutes away from their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren.

Active in their church, Jeff and Sharon enjoy staying involved in their community. Jeff is a Certified Professional Life Coach and Spiritual Director who takes joy in mentoring others, especially young business owners. He’s also an avid reader and lifelong learner who’s always looking for his next great book.
